SPRING/SUMMER 2019 – REBECCA MINKOFF, the leading designer in the accessible luxury handbags, accessories, footwear and apparel, continues to evolve the brand with the national debut of the Rebecca Minkoff Spring/Summer 2019 eyewear collection produced and distributed by Safilo Group.

Following on the heels of the brand's Holiday 2018 exclusive 10-piece sunglass launch available at Rebecca Minkoff retail stores,, select Nordstrom and Solstice Sunglasses boutiques, the Spring/Summer 2019 collection will include a grand total of 18 sunglass styles.  The brand will also launch its first-ever optical collection this Spring with 14 optical frames which will be available at better optical stores nationwide.

In the Rebecca Minkoff eyewear collection, functionality and multidimensionality converge—casual dress meets formal dress meets athletic clothing meets formalwear—turning the attitude of being present in the world into an aesthetic. These are accessible, head-turning optical frames and sunglasses that women can wear on any occasion.

The eyewear collection embodies the contradictions and plurality of modern femininity and the product category adds a new dimension to the brand’s focus on bringing out the confidence of many.

Designed in Safilo Group’s global design studio on Fifth Avenue in New York City in partnership with the Rebecca Minkoff Design Team, the collection takes its cues from the brand’s design ethos – wherein women everywhere are encouraged to confidently own the multiplicity of the many roles they occupy, their own moods and feelings. To express the unique DNA of the Rebecca Minkoff brand, the collection hones in on a few recognizable design details and distinguishing elements to convey a distinctive identity comprised of three inspirational themes:

  • Strength and Softness – Styles that exude confidence in their designs and their own growing courage to be worn. A mix of boldness and softness, these styles are designed to liberate the wearer and to make her stand out and take a stand.

  • Inner Rockstar – Edgy styles with design elements such as studs, iridescent colorations and rainbow-colored lenses.

  • Confidence (seasonal styles) – A bold style tied directly to the brand’s other accessories which, for Spring/Summer 2019, is heavily based around stars and metallic leather effects.

The Spring/Summer 2019 optical collection, priced from $148 - $168 (MSRP) and the sunglass collection, priced from $98 - $158 (MSRP), will be distributed by better optical retailers, department stores and sunglass specialty boutiques.

“The launch of our eyewear collection is a truly special moment for the brand. It’s a category we’ve been looking to expand into, and we’re thrilled to be embracing this next step with Safilo as our key partner and leader in this industry,” said Rebecca Minkoff, Co-Founder and Creative Director of Rebecca Minkoff.

“As we continue to evolve and grow our global lifestyle brand, sunglasses add another option for our consumer. I’m always looking for ways at making a woman feel more empowered, whether it’s a Moto or Crossbody, and now sunglasses. It’s all about creating new ways to empower her as she works towards her goals and bettering herself. When a woman wears Rebecca Minkoff, she knows many other women have her back. She’s confident that she’s one of many, and with their support she can accomplish anything,” added Minkoff.

Embodying 21st century femininity in all its multidimensionality, Rebecca Minkoff encourages her audience to confidently own the many roles they occupy and their many moods and feelings. Since launching in 2001, the brand has established itself as a destination where functionality, modern femininity, and the current cultural moment converge. The collection spans handbags, ready-to-wear, footwear, soft accessories, jewelry, eyewear, luggage, tech accessories, timepieces and swimwear. Through products, content, conversations and experiences, Rebecca Minkoff is dedicated to creating the modern cultural and business narrative of togetherness and a shared success.
