Product:GV Shower (GV7136/S) (Safilo)
The Givenchy GV Shower, like the Givenchy Podium jewelry line, is inspired by rain showers and rendered in precious-looking materials. The eyewear is a metaphor for nature’s perpetual state of transformation: in springtime, ice melts into water. Produced in a limited series for the most glamorous eyewear aficionados, the iconic GV Shower sunglasses can be described as a linear mask – made from a hypo-allergenic metal – embellished with 120 hand-applied Swarovski crystals in different sizes, shapes and color tones for an ultra-brilliant effect that spills into a cascade of crystals at the temples completed with acetate end tips. Likened to shimmering raindrops, the crystal “fringe” effect sways around the face as the wearer moves. the GV Shower is available with clear or tinted gray lenses, with adjustable nose pads for ease of wear and accompanied by exclusive luxurious packaging. The GIVENCHY collection of sunglasses and optical frames is produced and distributed by Safilo Group.
Why should this product be considered?
With a nod to the abstract notion of mirrors that plays an integral role in the brand’s SS2019 collection, the GV Shower is one of the most dramatic pieces created for the runway at GIVENCHY’s Spring-Summer 2019 show – and maybe ever – and represents the highest celebration of the GV Mask, the first sunglasses designed by Givenchy’s artistic director Clare Waight Keller in SS18, which she transformed from a linear mask -- using the same best-selling structure and fit – into a spectacular piece of jeweled eyewear for SS 2019. The eyewear perfectly combines a high-quality yet wearable structure with the overall precious look of its catwalk alter ego. Extremely eye-catching, unique, and unusual, the GV Shower was featured in the brand’s video teasers and in still photos for the SS19 season’s ad campaign and has received tremendous press coverage all over the world, including, Vogue (China, Germany), Harper’s Bazaar (China, Hong Kong and Spain) Glamour (France and Spain), Madame Figaro (France) and Elle (Belgium), The Sunday Times Style (UK), to name a few.
