Traditional prosthetic eyes are typically designed to blend in, mimicking the wearer’s natural eye as closely as possible. But fun eyes take a completely different approach.
Here, Belle Bakst — Accessories Council contributor and member of the Fun Eye Fund — speaks with Rachel Yee about her favorite moments with this incredible nonprofit. Thanks to the work of her ocularist (a specialist who creates prosthetic eyes), Yee and her collaborator Leitzel have found a way to ease the emotional burden of eye loss while also reclaiming body autonomy through creative self-expression.
