Designers to Watch: Avermore

Love & Legacy

How a chance encounter sparked a debut bridal collection born from the grandeur and craftsmanship of the Biltmore Estate.

By Karen Giberson

Natural diamonds and richly saturated sapphires sparkled under the studio lights as I walked into our photo shoot — Avermore’s new bridal collection, launched less than a year ago, is already commanding attention. Each piece carries the unmistakable imprint of the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina, the Vanderbilt mansion that inspired the line’s grand aesthetic and intricate detailing.

Avermore itself is quintessentially American: rooted in history, heritage, and craft. The brand has distilled the Biltmore’s architectural majesty into contemporary fine jewelry — honoring the past without being held captive by it. The vision of husband-and-wife co-founders Aubrey Vanderbilt Cecil Baliles and Kyle Baliles, who worked carefully with the photographer on set to capture the intricate design and brilliance of each piece, this new collection is thoughtfully constructed to showcase the beauty of its stones while reflecting the distinctive elegance that defines the Biltmore itself.

“We are inspired by the beautiful estate that we call home,” Aubrey explained. “The property frequently hosts weddings, and that sense of romance is always present.”
