ACE 2026 Merchant of the Year: Nata Dvir

There’s no denying it — Macy’s is having a moment. Enduring, revitalized, and increasingly innovative, the retailer has reasserted itself as a true force. At the center of that momentum is Nata Dvir, a merchant whose two-decade career with the store has been defined by curiosity, conviction, and a deep understanding of the customer. Now chief merchandising officer — and this year’s Accessories Council Merchant of the Year — Dvir is not only shaping the future of Macy’s, but redefining what it means to lead in retail today.

Dvir’s journey began in Macy’s Executive Development Program, a foundation she still credits as transformative. “I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do,” she said. “I thought I might go to law school, but here I am 21 years later.”

What kept her? “The exposure. Every category I worked in taught me something different. It taught me to think like the customer.”
